Curriculum
The core curriculum for A Mindful Course™ is based on more than 30 years of research from The Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
The Center for Mindfulness serves as an umbrella organization for the Stress Reduction Program founded by renowned author Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 ( his revolutionary book, Full Catastrophe Living: Using the Wisdom of Your Body and Mind to Face Stress, Pain and Illness, serves as the core text for this course) and is dedicated to the integration of mindfulness meditation practices into the mainstream of medicine and health care, as well as into other areas of society: education, corporate leadership, the workplace, criminal justice and sports.
In complement to this core curriculum, the discourse and practices of Strozzi Somatics has been incorporated, enriching the course for all participants.
Chris Johnson, PsyD, and Eleanore Feldman, MSW, LCSW, have taught this course for over a decade in the Chicago and Los Angeles areas.
